Best Showers Ever!

We have decided that Picacho Peak State Park (Arizona) has the best camping showers ever!

Shower Vestibule Shower

As you can see from the photos above, not only do you get a handicap accessible shower (with optional flexible tube movable shower head) but you also get a very large vestibule with a (bathroom stall) locking door. I’ve seen other showers where you just get the shower itself, and can either leave your stuff outside in the bathroom on the floor, or get your clothes, towel, and shoes wet. The water was hot, plentiful, and free! Some showers I’ve been to have a single push button that dispenses a minutes worth of lukewarm water. Pre-adjusted water temperature may be OK for a summer shower, but while taking a winter shower it gets hard to hit the button again due to the cold shivers. The Grand Canyon camper services charged $1.75 for a five minute shower, but at least the water there was hot and plentiful.

The rest of the bathhouse was also very nice. Plastic toilet seats are a plus after suffering through self cooling (on every flush!) stainless steel toilets at Lake Brantly state park.
